Yen Fen Chan is as a MAS trainee research assistant involved in research and teaching.
Yen Fen has completed a 5-year B.Arch degree at Tamkang University, Taiwan in 2016. His thesis, The Purples, is to explore the relationships amongst architecture, arts, and urban environment, and further transfer the abstract artistic concept through the form-finding procedure into an urban architectural space.
From 2019 to 2020, Yen-Fen continuously studied at die Angewandte, Institution of Architecture with Studio Greg Lynn in Vienna, where he obtained computational skills applicable to architecture. In 2021 he completed a Master of Advanced Studies Degree in Architecture and Digital Fabrication MASDFAB at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Zurich (ETH Zurich), where he sharpened his proficiency in the realm of robotic fabrication.
His current research is with focus on specialized robotic 3D printing with granular matters.
