Tiziano Derme

Tiziano Derme is an architect interested in the relationship between architectural design, emergent materials, and biotechnologies within digital and robotic fabrication. His research focuses on Microbially mediated fabrication processes applied to the built environment. He is a Ph.D. researcher at the Chair for Digital Building Technologies (dbt), Institute of Technology in Architecture (ITA) at the Department of Architecture at ETH Zurich.

Previously he was an Assistant Professor at Leopold-Franzens University Innsbruck, lecturer and tutor at several international graduate and postgraduate programs, amongst others at the University of Melbourne (MSD), The University of Tokyo. His research and work have been acknowledged with numerous grants and exhibited in various galleries, events, and institutions such as the Biennale of Venice, Seoul Biennale, Ars Electronica, Melbourne Triennale.Tiziano is the co-founder and director of MAEID Büro für Architektur und transmediale Kunst, a transdisciplinary design practice based in Vienna.
