Rena Giesecke

Rena Giesecke studied architecture at Germany, Japan and Austria receiving a Master of Architecture with specialization in Analogue and Digital Production at Academy of Fine Arts Vienna in 2016. In her master thesis “Between material, machine and designer”, she explored creative potentials of robotic processes in combination with material behavior and emergent form. Since 2017 Rena is an ITA Fellow and doctoral student at the chair for Digital Building Technologies (dbt), Institute of Technology in Architecture (ITA) at the Department of Architecture, ETH Zurich. Her research proceeds with the interest of using behaviors of liquids to print new spatial formulations.
