Angela Yoo is currently a Research Assistant at the chair of Digital Building Technologies (DBT) at the Institute of Technology in Architecture (ITA), ETH Zurich.
Originally from New Zealand, Angela graduated with a Master of Architecture (Prof. Hons) from the University of Auckland in 2014 and gained professional experience at Monk Mackenzie Architects working on geometrically complex bridge structures and medium-density apartment buildings. Upon moving to Switzerland in 2017, she studied under the Master of Architecture and Digital Fabrication programme at ETH Zurich where she developed an interest for novel material processes and the expanded design space of innovative fabrication technologies. Since graduation she has been involved in the research and teaching activities of Digital Building Technologies, the chair of Prof. Benjamin Dillenburger. Her projects to date have focused on design for robotically 3d printed concrete structures and 3d printed formwork for performative slabs and sculptural bespoke stairs in architecture.
